I Was Brave.. Wasn't I Mom!!

Well today was the big day...
Karden got his tonsils and adenoids out...

We arrived at the hospital at 6:30 Am and got all checked in. Karden was thinking this was neat, he even got his own bracelet. :)

When he had to change into the little hospital gown, he started to get nervous. He cried a bit and started to decide this may not be fun. We colored in the books they gave him and soon it was time to go.He got to ride in style in a little wagon.
About 45 minutes later and a lots of extra love from the best recovery room nurse and grandma he was all done.
We went and sat with him while he had a popsicle and watched some cartoons.
He was all to eager to leave when they said he could go, he almost beat us to the door.
Karden is doing really good and enjoying the extra attention and popsicles. Were glad to be home and have it over with.

And yes Buddy.. You were very brave!!

Playing Catch up!!

Well it's been a busy couple of weeks so be prepared for picture overload.

First off we started in a dinner group- it is awesome!! We have eaten like kings every night and only had to cook once per week!! It is getting easier every week and the night I have to cook I don't feel like I'm going to stroke out. Ryan loves it as well and doesn't feel like a "charity case" anymore. I have even had a little helper that decided she was bored of watching me cook for 4 families.

Karden has been going to swimming lessons again this year and loves it.
He has made huge improvements and will even go under water now.(believe me this is a big deal!) His favorite part is when they get to jump in when the class is almost over.

What would I complain about if we didn't have water problems in our backyard- (thankfully not in the basement again!!) This time we have not only water, but that water had turned into stinky swamp mud that has attracted all the bees in the area. Good times.
Ryan has replaced all the sprinklers along the back fence thinking we had a bad line, but we still have the water. The only thing we can think of is that our 2 of our backyard neighbors have gotten their yards in this year and since we are all watering the water flows to the lowest spot, which happens to be along our fence in the backyard. I give up!!!!

On a happier note The Spanish Fork Fiesta Days wouldn't be complete without a trip to see the childrens pararde,

Karden rode with his primary class on our wards float and thought he was soo neat! After we headed over the to the park for the kids activites tent.
The kids played little dumb games and got even stupider prizes but they both had lots of fun.
The Fish rodeo was the next event for the day. We walked over to buy Karden a ticket and Whitley decided she was going to "catch fish with my hands" I kept trying to tell her no! Call me cheap but I just knew she would get in line, freak out and I'm out $5.00. She had set her mind to it and so we bought her a ticket too

She let me roll up her pants, got in line and low and behold got in the water and got her fish!! I just about died! She was not going to be outdown by Karden. To tell you the truth she was a bit more brave in the water that Karden was.!
But getting her to hold the bag with the dead fish in it and you think you would of asked her to hold a dead rat. She was terrified.

Karden loved to look and his fish also loved to poke and prod the poor dead thing.
Good thing we had uncle Paul he cleaned it an cooked it for the kids, he knew I wasn't going to cook the stinky things!

Wowzer!! That turned out to be really long- But I think we are all caught up now.

PS- Ryan was able to buy his bosses box seats for the Spanish fork rodeo. It is on the 22nd (Wednesday.) We still have a few adult seats available so if your interested, call me or leave me a comment. They are $10.00 a seat. They are awesome seats!! And who can resist a rodeo Hamburger. (the main reason I go) :)

4th of July Fun!!

This year for the 4th we headed up to Scofield for a little family fun. Whitley was a little impatient waiting for the parade to begin, so Grandpa entertainded her on the four wheeler.
Whitley loved the parade and She soon figured out that if she waved and looked cute, the people on the floats would throw her tons of candy, otter pops, beads, bouncy balls, clown noses, etc!
She would squeal with delight everytime they threw something.

Karden had fun riding on the Jensen family float with all the other kids from the camp.
We watched the rubber duck race from our campsite I'm still a little upset that duck #842 was slow and chubby and probally is still stuck in the weeds. Dang I already had plans for that $1000.00..
After a huge dinner and a band that was not very good we headed for the fireworks over the water. The kids were so excited, but mother nature had other plans.
It started with a little drizzle and ended with a downpour. We ended up watching the fireworks through foggy windows in the trailblazer. Oh well!! You can't win them all. What a great way to spend the 4th!!
