The Good, The Sad, and the Ugly!!

The Good-

We took a little mini vacation with Ryans family down to St George!! The weather was great. The boys drove to mesquite in the morning to shoot at the gun range and the girls braved the wildlife museam with the kiddos!
The kids had fun pretending to be on a safari
and playing in the "indiana jones" fort!
When the boys got back it was our turn to leave and go shopping, we may have scared my mother in law to death by Sharlyn's driving and my lack of navigation skills because when we finally stopped she kissed the ground.
We got some good deals and an afternoon without the kids! The boys had taken the kiddos to jumping jacks
Ryan is now 100% sure we will never have 4 kids!

The following week Karden turned 6!! Six!! More than half a decade!! He was so excited to wake up to his decorated door
and to be able to take cookies to his kindergarten class! He got a cool GI Joe dress up set with a sword that makes noise!
Yeah should of read the box BEFORE buying it.

We had our family meet us at Pirate Island pizza for a little birthday lunch-
Another brilliant idea was the jacket, I bought for disneyland and it drives me nuts, I had hid it but he decided to look in the very back of his closet and was so excited that he found his pirate coat. It was his birthday, I couldn't say no. The kids had fun playing in the arcade,
getting ballloon animals
and there face painted.
My dad got into the pirate atmosphere and loved doing his impression of Captain Hook!
Karden got spoiled again by everyone! Thanks for coming and making his day special! Ryan and I also had our anniversary and have been married for 11 years! Wow thats a long time- We were a bit preoccupied and didn't even realize it was our anniversary until I was writing a receipt at work around noon. Needless to say we didn't do anything fun.

The Sad-

The week was saddened by the passing of my Grandma-

She was 95 and was amazing- I don't think words can do justice to such a great lady! I can honestly say I never heard her say anything bad about anyone- She was designated to be the visiting teacher partner of one very "difficult" lady for 20+ years because the bishop knew she could handle her. Yeah the difficult lady even made me get out of the car and into the backseat when MY grandma was taking her home- Yes! I'm still bitter-
Grandma loved Her kids and grandkids more that anything in the world!!
She could also outshop me and I'm a good shopper. She never met a dollar store she didn' like! I slept over at my grandmas house every Friday night until I was like 13, then we would get up and make whirligig cookies!!
She loved my kids like no other- she "got" Karden, they were on the same wavelength.
They loved to pick on each other and more than once were banished from sitting by each other so others could keep some sanity. I was able to get a copy of her journal, reading it is so imcredibly neat. She was one tough lady, with a strong testimony and great love for life. She was able to pass away in her sleep, we are so blessed. We are so lucky to have had her for so long and have been loved by her. She will definatly be missed more than she knows but I know she is watching over us.

The ugly-

Yeah- Word to the wise- Don't make Whitley mad!!
I think she has a little Thomas temper- but we still love her!!

We have had a crazy couple of weeks, but we survived, and I guess what doesn't kill us makes us stronger!
