Last saturday we went and watched The childrens parade, after the parade we braved the park for a little fish wrangling
we tried out hand at a few kid games and learned mom is not as good of a shot as dad!
2 of my sister and there kiddos joined us as well as my mom and dad so we made a day of it.Bowling was a big hit with the kids even if they didn't get the part about rolling the ball and not chucking it as hard as you can at the little volunteers! yikes!
We went to the rodeo on Thursday and I got to introduce Whitley to one of the best things on earth, a rodeo hamburger!
She didn't quite understand why I think they are delightful and basically manhandled it, until we let her throw it away!
Karden loved the Wild Child
and the huge popsicle
and We realized that he is allergic to horses. (sorry kiddo you got my genes) He coughed, and coughed and wheezed and coughed most of the rodeo but really had a fun time!
On friday we braved the carnival to get our "White Trash On." I can't pass up a deal and the lady at the city office told me you get 40 rides for $18.00. I was hooked and my great deal turned out to be a not so great deal when the 40 rides turned into 40 tickets and each ride cost 4 tickets! Yeah no so good of a deal but oh well the kids had a great time.
Of course the carousel is a must!
After 10 rides Ryan and I realized why we DON'T do carnivals!! But Karden loved the jet ride..
Saturday was the grand parade!! The Neighborhood boys decided to ditch the parade and go shooting instead and the girls and the kids went to the parade! The kids had fun hanging out with some of there friends
And the girls had fun at the awesome yardsale we found! But Once you have seen a parade you have seen them all!-
That night we had a BBQ with the neighbors, the food was good, the kids ran wild, and we has slushies! So all was right in the world. We ended the celebration with a bang, literally, when we headed to the ballpark for the fireworks!!

Followed by a tense ride home with the gas light on and being stuck in traffic for 45 minutes, but we made it home!!
What a fun way to celebrate the 24th!
