Pioneers, Pageants and Prehistoric Creatures!
We needed a break from daily life and decided to head on a little overnight trip last weekend. We ended up in Price!! Yeah, I know that is not numero uno on any ones vacation list! I wanted to go to the castledale pageant and Ryan wanted to go check out the cowboy shooting range he had heard about so we loaded up and headed out!!
We got there Saturday morning and seen a sign on the highway that said there was a railroad museum in Helper. My nephew is OBSESSED with trains and so we decided to make a little pit stop! Wow- Could have done without stopping there. It was interesting to say the least!
I don't think there was even one train in the museum. But there was a rusty old train car outside!
But the kids did get little paper hats that Alex insisted on wearing every time we were in the car!
We did a little bit of shopping and then headed to the hotel, This is my suggestion to make price a better place to stay- Get a Marriott!! I have gotten a little spoiled. I had booked the hotel online and the hotel clerk was not going to honor our reservation! To make matters worse the clerk had a little problem that we like to call -not speaking English-
It may or may not have been a little devenish fit in the making.. and being used to Thomas fits - I took it on myself to walk next door and the gracious people at the Holiday Inn saved the day!! So after the hotel fiasco the boys took the kiddos swimming to cool off!
We then headed to castledale for the pageant. I love this pageant! Ryan had not seen it since he was 10 years old, so we were excited! I was so excited I even forgot my camera! We got there just in time for Ryan to snag me one of these..
Who know a piece of wood could make me soo happy!! Whitley thought it was great to sit in the dirt and pile as much dirt and rocks on her themed overalls- why do I even try!! She also fell asleep about thirty minutes into the show and slept right until I put her back in the car for the ride home- Packing her down that hill was a real good time! :)
Karden loved when the horses went through the mud
and especially when the "real live Jesus" came on stage!! He didn't like the singing as much, and at the most reverent moments would cover his ears and say LOUDLY- "Man that song was SOOO long!" That is definitely Ryans kid!!
Saturday the boys went shooting and the girls took the kids to the dinosaur museum - do you notice a trend here, boys go shooting on every vacation, and girls are stuck in a museum with the kids- And of course the shooting is more important so Ryan got the camera.
They said it was really fun though. Ryan went through about 1,000 bullets in 3 hours so the must of had a great time.
well maybe too good of a time!

The girls and the kids had a fun time as well. The little play area of the dinosaur museum was great! We played puppets and puzzles and dug for dinosaur bones! I may have had more fun than the kids!
We met up with the dad for lunch at the park to let the kids get there wiggles out for the long ride home. They have the coolest park.
All the kids loved running through the castles and volcano's.
Peeking through the portholes
playin in the tunnels,
and of course the slide is always a hit!
It was a nice little overnighter, but I'm, glad to be home and to live in Spanish Fork. (Don't tell Ryan I said that-) It could always be worse!

Fiesta Days Fun!!!
Wow- Fiesta days was alot of fun this year! It seemed like we had something to do everynight of the week!
Last saturday we went and watched The childrens parade, after the parade we braved the park for a little fish wrangling
Karden even got a prize fish and won $10.00!! He was so excited!!
we tried out hand at a few kid games and learned mom is not as good of a shot as dad!
2 of my sister and there kiddos joined us as well as my mom and dad so we made a day of it.Bowling was a big hit with the kids even if they didn't get the part about rolling the ball and not chucking it as hard as you can at the little volunteers! yikes!
We went to the rodeo on Thursday and I got to introduce Whitley to one of the best things on earth, a rodeo hamburger!
She didn't quite understand why I think they are delightful and basically manhandled it, until we let her throw it away!
Karden loved the Wild Child
and the huge popsicle
and We realized that he is allergic to horses. (sorry kiddo you got my genes) He coughed, and coughed and wheezed and coughed most of the rodeo but really had a fun time!
On friday we braved the carnival to get our "White Trash On." I can't pass up a deal and the lady at the city office told me you get 40 rides for $18.00. I was hooked and my great deal turned out to be a not so great deal when the 40 rides turned into 40 tickets and each ride cost 4 tickets! Yeah no so good of a deal but oh well the kids had a great time.
Of course the carousel is a must!
After 10 rides Ryan and I realized why we DON'T do carnivals!! But Karden loved the jet ride..
and the kids couldn't stop laughing when they rode the boats!
So I guess it was worth it!
Saturday was the grand parade!! The Neighborhood boys decided to ditch the parade and go shooting instead and the girls and the kids went to the parade! The kids had fun hanging out with some of there friends

And the girls had fun at the awesome yardsale we found! But Once you have seen a parade you have seen them all!-
That night we had a BBQ with the neighbors, the food was good, the kids ran wild, and we has slushies! So all was right in the world. We ended the celebration with a bang, literally, when we headed to the ballpark for the fireworks!!
Followed by a tense ride home with the gas light on and being stuck in traffic for 45 minutes, but we made it home!!
What a fun way to celebrate the 24th!

Let there Be Sight.....
And There was sight.....
And It was good!
I finally did it- I have wanted lasik forever. I am tired of glasses and contacts that hurt and move and fall out! So off to hoopes vision we went!
When I sat down to meet with the doctor he noticed that I have my eyeliner tattoed on, He then proceeded to tell me if you can do that, this will be a piece of cake...
he didn't lie!
It was the easiest thing ever. Lay under this machine for 14 seconds per eye! Stand up and walk out to a massage chair with a little blurry vision and have a little massage for 15 minutes!! Go to the next machine and lay down and watch the green light for 18 seconds on each eye! No pain just a horrid smell-like burnt flesh- that you realize is your eyeball! Not my favorite part! Walk outside and sit in an exam chair for 10 more minutes and then have doctor check your eyes and go home! That was it- In and out in 60 minutes. It was awesome- Later that night after my valium induced nap I decided to watch the DVD of the procedure they gave us- Yeah could have done without that- It made my eyes hurt!!
Today I went back for my follow up appointment and I have 20/20 vision

The doctor said my vision may improve over the next 3-6 months. I can read license plates and the TV screen. I even put my glasses on to see if I could still see out of them- I can't! I have now added lasik to the list of the top ten best things I have done in my life!!
Hasta La Vista Contacts and glasses- You will not be missed!

Something Fishy?!?!
We needed a family fun day so we headed up to the Living Planet Aquarium for the day. The kids loved looking at all the fish and sea life- Whitley was bound, bent and determined that if she kissed the frog she would become the Frog Princess, Tiana,
It didn't happen and I am still waiting for her to get some flesh eating frog disease!!
The finding nemo fish tank was a hit with everyone
Karden loved "high fiving" the sting rays-
Whitley well she was having no part of it!!
The new penguin exhibit was really neat
and the kids loved to watch them jump and swim and show off for us!
It was a great day with all my nieces and nephews! We were all sad to have to go home!

Partying it up in Park City
For Fathers Day weekend we headed up to spend a few relaxing days in Park City- Thanks to Ryans Uncle who let us use his timeshare- We had a blast!!
Did you know that it is really truly possible to get sick of swimming!! It can happen!! I know Strange huh?
Our time was spent swimming, shopping, swimming, watching movies, bounce houses, oh yeah and swimming!! The kids were in Heaven!!
On Fathers day we headed down to the zoo, What a awesome fathers day present if I do say so myself- Yeah Ry didn't think it was as neat!!
We ended up celebrating My nephews birthday party as well. So the kids all got Indiana Jones bags full of Treasures.
They thought it was really exciting to look at the animals through there binocs,
writing in there notebooks, posing for pictures
and shooting there cap guns (okay the cap gun was NOT to be brought into the zoo but Karden snuck his in and after shooting it off, the gun was quickly banished into the Indiana Jones bag until further notice!!)
The boys also loved consulting the map so they could take us to see the snakes!
Of course we had to sit down, have a rest and a snack!

The kids had a great time playing with there cousins and wore themselves completely out!
It was a great weekend surrounded by my favorite people!! ( and no laundry) :)
